Organised by Terras d’Ossa, with the support of the Municipality of Estremoz, the lecture “A LUZ DA CAL or LIMELIGHT” will take place on June 8th, at 4:00 pm, in the auditorium of the Municipal Library in Estremoz.
The initiative will have as speakers Cláudia Melo, architect, and João Azaruja, historian. It aims to explain the historical context and the importance of lime in preserving traditional Alentejo architecture, promoting the sustainability of buildings and the health of their occupants.

It will essentially be a practical conference, with the presentation of examples and solutions that aim to rehabilitate existing buildings and the use of lime wash in new construction work.
Lime, so rooted in the culture and architecture of the Alentejo, is a both a constructive and decorative element with a past, present and future.
